omg kill me now please

So Matt Maupin was taken hostage by al-Quida (did I spell that correctly) or whatever four years ago. He was on a video reading something and then we never heard about him again. In the first month people were all hopeful that maybe he was still alive, but once four years have passed and he hasn't shown up at all, he's probably dead. That's the logical standpoint, right?

Apparently not.

According to WKRC News, after Maupin's remains were discovered and identified the other day, everyone was downright shocked. Except for me. BECAUSE HE'S BEEN MISSING FOR FOUR GODDAMN YEARS IN A WAR-TORN COUNTRY. However, people keep saying how Maupin's parents were saddened by the loss of your son, but the thing is you shouldn't be all mopey because you should've realized he's been dead for four years. You should be happy because now you can bury him and now he can rest in peace, but no, they need their fifteen minutes of fame by going on the news and being retarded about the entire situation.

Oh, and they got to be in the Opening Day parade. Why? Because their son's been missing during the Iraqi War. So? I want to see every parent of every soldier from Cincinnati who's been killed or gone MIA during this war to be in that goddamn parade because you can't pick and choose your figureheads and who gets to show off their grief. If you're going to support one family, you should support the rest of them equally and not just say, "Oh, well, our condolences go out to the other families, too."

I swear, half the world could suddenly fall over and die and I think we would be a lot better off.

That's just how people are. [slaps forehead] I couldn't really care less about the whole situation, but you're right: it's not fair to give them special treatment.
